Born in Milan in 1968, he graduated in violin in 1990 at the G. Verdi Conservatory of his city under the guidance of Maestro Gigno Maestri and immediately undertook an intense concert activity. Among the main Institutions and chamber groups with which he collaborated include: RAI Symphony Orchestra of Milan, Orchestra Guido Cantelli, Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Carlo Coccia of Novara, Chamber Orchestra Alessandro Rolla of Pavia, Orchestra Milano Classica.
Luca Di Gioia was the first of the Second violins of the "La Piccola Sinfonica di Milano" orchestra with which he also performed concertant parts in important Italian halls (Sala Verdi in Milan, Auditorium Santa Cecilia in Rome, Teatro Grande in Brescia, etc.); still as a violinist, he has recorded two records for the Foné label with pieces from the baroque repertoire. He has also performed for several productions the roles of Primo dei Secondi violini or Concertino of the First violins in the Emilia Romagna Symphony Orchestra Arturo Toscanini and in the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan. At the same time he does not disdain the participation in orchestras for important "light" music events on the RAI and Mediaset television networks: six editions of the Sanremo festival, four editions of "Viva Napoli", two editions of the "Italian Festival", "Buona Domenica" (1995-96), he also participated as a shoulder violin in various television productions. He has collaborated in many recordings and concerts with national and international singers (Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Amy Stewart, Barry White, Gianni Morandi, Gianluca Grignani, Enrico Ruggeri, Roberto Vecchioni, Fiorello, 883, Ron, Ivana Spain, Pooh, Fabio Concato, Francesco Renga, and others).
This intense concert activity is accompanied by the study of singing.
As a tenor Luca Di Gioia had the opportunity to perform in important broadcasts on national television networks (including Buona Domenica on Canale 5 in 1995). In the sacred repertoire he was the interpreter of several works, among which the most important: the Mass in C minor K427 (First Italian performance, at the Donizetti Theater in Bergamo, with recently reconstructed original material) and the Requiem K626 by WA Mozart, the Stabat Mater of FJ Haydn, the Messiah of GF Haendel. In 2006 he performed G. Verdi's Requiem Mass in Brescia, gaining unanimous approval from the public and critics. In February 2007, he played the Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini at the Coccia Theater in Novara. Over the last few years he has performed in recitals in Italy and abroad, also in venues such as the Teatro Alfieri in Turin, the Auditorium Flaiano in Pescara, the Teatro Dal Verme and the Sala Verdi of the Conservatory in Milan, "Teatro Grande "of Brescia and the prestigious" Victoria Hall "in Geneva (CH). For the Teatro Coccia in Novara he played the roles of Gastone in "La traviata", Pong in "Turandot" Peppe in "Pagliacci" and Goro in "Madama Butterfly" He made his debut in the role of the Duke of Mantua in "Rigoletto", Rodolfo in "Boheme" and Alfredo in "La Traviata". In autumn 2005 he participated in the production of "Il Canvetto", a work of the Ticino tradition of A. Filippello, performed at the congress building in Lugano and directed by Luciana Serra. In the year 2001 he ranks first in the competition for the Teatro alla Scala choir with which he still collaborates. At the same theater, he also collaborated in the works Idomeneo by W.A. Mozart (2006-2007 season), Cyrano de Bergerac by F. Alfano (2007-2008 season), Alcina by G.F. Haendel (2008-2009 season) and Death in Venice by B. Britten (2010-2011 season). He is a member of the vocal quintet "Italian Harmonists" with which he recorded a disc entitled "When the radio", and with which he held a live concert for "Radio TRE suite" from the Via Asiago studios in Rome, in October 2008 he performed, again for Radio TRE, at the Quirinale Palace for the "I Concerti del Quirinale" season, and recently performed with the Italian Harmonists also at the Blue Note in Milan with enthusiastic public and critical acclaim. Since 2007 he has directed the orchestra ECHO (Evangelical Chamber Orchestra) with which he has held several concerts of "Contemporary Christian Music" in churches and theaters, receiving wide public approval.
