Lilla Farkas has dual Hungarian and French nationality. She is first of all a cellist. After studying music and drama at the Franz Liszt Conservatory of Music in Budapest, she won the Franz Liszt singing competition in 1987. In Budapest, she performs in The Christmas Oratorio and Bach's Magnificat, Eugene Onegin (Filipievna), Rigoletto (Maddalena), Suor Angelica (Zia Principessa). At the Budapest Opera, she sings Alisa de Lucia di Lammermoor.

She performs Gounod's Requiem in Germany under the direction of Janos Acs, Pergolese's Stabat Mater, a recital of Bartók's Lieder, Stravinsky's Le Rossignol and Amelia al Menotti's ballet at the Monte-Carlo Opera, Solemn Vespers and the Mozart Coronation Mass at the Nice Festival of Sacred Music, Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia and Stella's Mother) at the Gattières Opus Festival, Requiem and Lux ​​Aeterna by Jil Bartley at the Cathedral of Monaco, a Recital Schuman, Schubert and Brahms at Vence and Avignon, The Mystery of the Conversion by Paul Claudel at Notre-Dame de Paris (Directed by Antoine Juliens, with Jean-Claude Drouot).
From 1991 to 2001, she was engaged at the Monte-Carlo Opera as an artist of the choruses before joining in 2001 the Chorus of the Opéra national de Paris. She has worked several times with composer Eric Serra. She participates as a soloist in several productions of the Paris Opera (La Chauve-souris, Juliette or the Key of dreams, Lohengrin, Tannhäuser).
