Laura Vila is a lyric mezzosoprano from Barcelona who starts his career collaborating with Amics de l'Opera de Sabadell and his tours around Catalonia.
Afther their participation in 2010 in the same association accademie in Mozart's "Cosí fan Tutte" (Dorabella) the roles that are offered were longer; from short roles as Maddalena in "Rigoletto ", Suor Zelatrice in "Suor Angelica", 3rd dame in "Zauberflöte" and the mother's voice on "The Tales of Hoffmann" to the most dificult and extensives roles as Amneris in "Aida", Fenena in "Nabucco", Adalgisa in "Norma", Orfeo "Orfeo ed Euridice", Isabella "L'Italiana in Algeri" and recently the role of Carmen in the Bizet's opera and Eboli in "Don Carlo".
Outside the Catalan opera tours she has participated in the Belgian Festival Zomeropera singing Maddalena in "Rigoletto", a role in "Cendrillon" at Gran Teatre del Liceu, a 4th virgin role in "Moses und Aron" at Teatro Real, Lola in "Cavalleria Rusticana" at Teatre Principal de Palma and the roles of Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Suzuki(Madama Butterfly) and Meg Page (Falstaff) at the Ibiza's Opera Festival.
In concert she has sung the role of Amneris (Aida), Flora (Traviata) and Erste Mägde (Elektra) in the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid and "La Favorita" (Leonora) and Giovanna Seymour in "Anna Bolena" in different Catalan theaters.
Recently she was sang the Erste Mägde in Strauss Elektra's in the Auditorio Nacional directed by David Afkham.
In the Oratorio repertoire has also sung at the Palau de la Música with te OSV singing "The C Major Mass" by Beethoven and in the Auditori de Barcelona, the "Requiem" of Duruflé. She has made their debut in Verdi's "Requiem" at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid directed by Thomas Sanderling. She also sung the Mozart's "Requiem" in Murcia's Auditorium and in Catalonia places.
Other works are concerts like Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater", Bach's "Magnificat" , Bach's "St. John's Passion" in Sagrada Familia or the Vivaldi's "Gloria" in the Wintertur Auditorium in Barcelona.
Recently she sung with the Simfonica from Cascais in a opera concert in Portugal.
She has worked with directors such as Andrew Davis, Elio Orciuolo, Daniel Gil de Tejada, Lothar Koenigs, Virginia Martínez, Rubén Gimeno, Daniel Mestre, Enrico Delamboye, Cristóbal Soler, Thomas Sanderling, Santiago Serrate and David Afkham.
Has been awarded in several competitions such Noves Veus in Barcelona, Primavera Lírica in Premià de Mar, Mirabent i Magrans, the Mirna Lacambra (winning a participation in the course of professional school of opera), 1st prize in the competition Balaruc les Bains in France and 1st prize in the singing competition Germans Plà in Balaguer.
