Born in Piacenza, she began her studies at the Domenichino direct school by G. Campolonghi.
Her career as a dancer begins with participation in the international competition Prix de Lausanne in 1981 where she wins one
scholarship and a prize allowing him to enter the school
of the Boston Ballet in the USA.
Later in 1982 Laura Contardi entered the Conservatoire National de Paris where she wins the First Prize which gives him access to the school of the Paris Opera directed by C. Bessy where she works with famous Professeur as Y. Chauvire, V. Verdy, B. Wells, G. Mayer, C.
Vaussard, C. La Motte, S. Golovine and P. Lacotte.
In 1985 Laura graduated from the Paris Opera and joined
of the company of the Operà under the direction of R. Nureyev.
Later she worked and perfected himself with Maitre of international renown such as: G. Thesmar, Franchetti, T. Finney, R. Nunez, J. Eliasen, P. Schaufuss, K. Hagen, W. Lowsky, B. Anderton, L. Seymour, N. Makarova and W. Burman.
In 1985 Laura Contardi joined the Montecarlo Ballet directed by G.
Thesmar, where she dances choreographies by K. Haigen, G. Balanchine, J. Maillot, U. Scholz, F. Cerrito and P.Lacotte.
In 1987 she was hired by P. Schaufuss at the London Festival Ballet,
where in 1989 Prima Ballerina is promoted.
In those years in London she has the ability to work with characters and style of the greatest Classical and Romantic Ballets of the repertoire as: Giselle, Swan Lake, the Shilphide, Sleeping Beauty and
Nutcrackers by historical authors like M. Petipa, and new versions of

Berlin, where she dances choreographies by P. Schaufuss, M. Bejart, G. Balanchine, A. Bournonville, R. Petit and W. Forsythe
In the following years she returned to the Montecarlo Ballet with the role of Etoile where she dances the works of the greatest authors of the Dance international of the moment as J. Neumeier, U. Scholz, M. Bejart, C. Bessy, R. Nunez and G. Balanchine, then she is a guest at the Aterballetto where Laura Contardi dances choreographies by A. Amodio and M. Morricone and later the creation conceived by G. Carbone on her of “Dame delle Camelie "and that of the" Riccardo III "by G. Jancu.

In 2001 he stopped working as a Prima Ballerina and started working
as Maitre de ballet at the Rome Opera Theater with Paul
Chalmer for the reconstruction of Sleeping Beauty, invited by
C. Fracci.
Following a period as Professor at the Municipal of Florence invited by E. Terabust.
From 2002 Laura Contardi worked at the Teatro alla Scala called by F. Olivieri, where after three years the company's First Maitre is promoted.

Olivieri.
