Mezzo-soprano Ksenia Dudnikova made her Royal Opera debut in the 2016/17 Season as Princesse de Bouillon (Adriana Lecouvreur).

Dudnikova was born in Andijan, Uzbekistan, and grew up in Russia. She studied at the Moscow State Conservatory with Klara Kadinskaya and went on to join the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. Her roles there have included Amneris (Aida, nominated for Best Actress in Opera at the 2015 Russian National Theatrical Golden Mask Awards), Marfa (Khovanshchina), Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Néris (Cherubini’s Medea), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Paulina (The Queen of Spades) and Hélène (War and Peace). Dudnikova made her role debut as Carmen in Yekaterinburg and has since sung the role for Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre and Semperoper Dresden. She made her debut with the Bolshoi Theatre as Maddalena (Rigoletto) and has since sung Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust) there. Further engagements include Sonyetka (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) for the Salzburg Festival, Princesse de Bouillon in Seville and Olga in Zürich.

Dudnikova’s concert appearances include Vanya (Glinka’s Ivan Susanin) and Frosya (Prokofiev’s Semyon Kotko) at the Bolshoi Theatre with Valery Polyansky, Joan of Arc (The Maid of Orléans) for Grand Théâtre de Genève, Verdi’s Requiem at the International Festival of Sacred Music in Riga with Andris Poga and Lennox Berkeley’s Stabat Mater in Moscow with Gennady Rozhdestvensky.
