Born in the Netherlands, Kor-Jan Dusseljee was particularly commended for his interpretation of the role of Hermann in The Queen of Spades in Gelsenkirchen in 2015. In January 2015, he sang the title role in The Tales of Hoffmann in Perm conducted by Teodor Currentzis.
This season, he has taken part in Henze’s Boulevard Solitude in Copenhagen and has again sung the role of Hermann at the Braunschweig Staatstheater. He has sung Das Klagende Lied with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Das Lied von der Erde with the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Tomas Netopil. In the course of previous seasons, he sang the roles of Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer in Hong Kong and at the Teatro Regio in Turin conducted by Gianandrea Noseda, Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos in Toulon, Hans in The Bartered Bride at the Wiesbaden Staatstheater, the title role in Verdi’s Otello at the Nouvel Opera in Tel Aviv, Froh in Das Rheingold in a concert version with the Berlin Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester conducted by Marek Janowski and at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome with Kirill Petrenko and took part in the Glagolithic Mass by Janáček with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has also performed the title role in Lohengrin, Alvaro (La Forza del destino), the Prince (Rusalka), Hoffmann in Braunschweig, Radames (Aida) in Aix-la-Chapelle, the Drum Major (Wozzeck) in Essen, Max (Der Freischütz), Sergei (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) and Jim Mahonney (The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) at the Komische Oper in Berlin.
