About

We are a young and motivated orchestra for students and young professionals, supported by the young friends of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

The Junge Kammerphilharmonie Berlin is a young orchestra for students and young professionals. With his first concert on 3 July 2015 in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berliner Philharmonie, the orchestra presented itself to the public for the first time.

The young Kammerphilharmonie Berlin was founded by seven students of various disciplines with the common desire to set up a new orchestra. After a year of preparation, the first weekly rehearsals of the orchestra under the direction of conductor Aurélien Bello began in April 2015. During rehearsals, the young musicians are supported by members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, who, among other things, conduct some Register samples.

The orchestra is organized by the members of the Junge Kammerphilharmonie Berlin. Important decisions for upcoming projects such as the election of conductor and program are made democratically by the entire orchestra.

Among the members of the Junge Kammerphilharmonie Berlin are students and young professionals from disciplines such as medicine, law, engineering and many more – but no professional musicians. With commitment and great enthusiasm, they pursue their goal of a joint concert. This is the result of professional rehearsals with an excellent conductor and moreover imbued with the energy with which young people play their Instrument.

In addition to the half-yearly concerts in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berliner Philharmonie, special projects take place in the Berlin-Brandenburg area. In 2016 we were invited by the Havelländische Musikfestspiele and the Bergfunk-Festival Königs-Wusterhausen. In 2017, with "Carmen" by Georges Bizet, we followed the first opera production within the framework of the chamber opera Rheinsberg – in 2018 we played "Der Freischütz" by Carl Maria von Weber.
