Born in Lyon, with a Master's degree in Law, Julien Behr is named "Revelation lyric artist" of the ADAMI in 2009 and is one of the three named in the category "Revelation lyric artist" at the Victoires de la musique classique 2013. In In 2009, he made his international debut at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence in the role of Orphée (Orphée aux Enfers). Since then, he has been heard in the roles of Tamino (The Magic Flute) at the Theater of St. Gallen in Switzerland, at the Rouen Opera, at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux and for his debut at the Opéra national de Paris, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) at the Opéra de Nancy, Arbace (Idomeneo) at Mozartwoche in Salzburg and Theater an der Wien, the title role of Abu Hassan de Weber at the Opéra de Besançon, Acis (Acis and Galatée) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Gonzalve (L'Heure espagnole) at the Barbican Center in London, Camille de Rosillon (The Merry Widow) at the Avignon Opera House, Antonin (Chives) at the Opéra Comique, the Pilote (The Ghost Ship) at the Royal Opera of Versailles.
He participated in the creation of Régis Campo's Quai Ouest at the Opéra du Rhin.
In concert, he has performed with Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble in a program Gluck / Mozart given in Salzburg and Grenoble in 2014, the National Orchestra of Lyon, the National Orchestra of the Pays de la Loire, Les Siècles, the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, the Berlin Akademie für Alte Musik under conductors such as Alain Altinoglu, René Jacobs, Samuel Jean, Fayçal Karoui, Marc Minkowski, Raphael Pichon, Josep Pons, Jérémie Rhorer, François-Xavier Roth, Leonard Slatkin, Sébastien Rouland. Julien Behr is the godfather of the "El Sistema" association in France, whose mission is to help children in difficulty through intensive music practice.
