Julie makes her much anticipated Paris Opera debut as La Folie in Platée.
French soprano Julie Fuchs is a rising star in the operatic world. This season she sings La Fille du régiment (Marie) at the Opéra de Lausanne, Il Viaggio a Reims (Comtesse Folleville) and Orlando(Angelica) at the Opernhaus Zurich, La Bohème (Musetta) for her debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor for Opera de Avignon and Acis and Galatea with the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg. Her first recording Yes will be released by Universal/Deutsche Grammophon on the 11th of September 2015.
In 2016-17 Julie makes her Wiener Staatsoper debut. Other significant engagements include roles at the Opera Comique, Teatro Real Madrid, and returns to the Opernhaus Zurich, Théâtre des Champs Elysees, Aix-en-Provence Festival, and Paris Opera.
Past engagements include La verita in cimento (Rosane), Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Alcina(Morgana) at the Opernhaus Zurich, La Clemenza di Tito (Servilia) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Acis et Galatea (Galatea) at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and La Fenice, title role in Ciboulette at the Opéra Comique, and concerts with Musiciens du Louvre and Marc Minkowski, at Musée d'Orsay, at the Opernball Zurich, at the Salzburg Festival, and "Le Concert de Paris" with the Orchestre National de Paris at the Eiffel Tower on 14 July 2015.
Julie has recorded with major jazz talents such as Giovanni Mirabassi and Paco Seri and performed My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle) at the Opéra de Metz and The Sound of Music (Maria) at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
Awards include the prestigious 1st prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, second prize at the Operalia Placido Domingo Competition 2013, Lyric Artist of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique 2014, ADAMI Classical Revelation, Lyrics Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique 2012 and Musical Revelation 12-13 by the Syndicat Professionnel de la Critique de Théâtre, Musique et Danse for her performance of Ciboulette at the Opéra Comique, her Zerbinetta by Strauss and for her first CD of songs by Mahler and Debussy (Aparté-Harmonia Mundi).
Projects: Comtesse Adèle (Le Comte Ory) at the Opéra Comique, her debut appearance at the Teatro Real de Madrid (Giunia in Lucio Silla), Morgana (Alcina) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Poppea (L’Incoronazione di Poppea) at the Zurich Opera, and Pamina (The Magic Flute) at the Staatsoper in Hamburg.
