Cellist Jérôme Fruchart began studying the cello with Marcel Bardon at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris. He went on to study with Jean-Marie Gamard and Jean Mouillère at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris from 1999 to 2003.
While a student, he took part in the 2002 Erasmus exchange programme, studying with Valentin Erben at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
He continued his studies with Arto Noras at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in 2004.
Fruchart has been a member of the Les Dissonances chamber orchestra since 2006. In 2007, he played in the Sinfonieorchester Basel for one season. He was a tutti cellist with the Opéra National de Paris from 2008 to 2010. Since 2011 he play as a substitue in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
In 2012 RCO Foundation purchased a cello built by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume in 1866, given on loan to Jérôme Fruchart.
