Jürgen Key, born in Bergisch Gladbach, studied clarinet in Wuppertal, Dusseldorf and Detmold.
During his studies he was a member of the German-Russian Philharmonic, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. Since 1992 he is Eb clarinetist in the Bavarian State Orchestra and member of the KKISS wind quintet. As a lecturer, he worked at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He has been teaching clarinet as well as Eb clarinet and chamber music for many years.
