About
Efim Jourist, who gave the quartet its name and one of the most outstanding international bayan virtuosos, both in the classical and modern fields, died at the beginning of 2007.
His passionate musicality, his zest for life and his almost inexhaustible wealth of compositions allow the Jourist Quartet to live on in four programs so far and develop perspectives for the future from this fund. Edouard Tachalow, violin, and Johannes Huth, double bass, who worked closely with Jourist until his death, stand for the preservation of artistic integrity in the spirit of the founder.
