Born in Toulouse, France Jonathan Klein began his ballet training in 2007 at the VM Dance Studio directed by Matthew Madsen and Vinciane Ghyssens. He took summer courses with Dina Bjorn (Bournonville), Aurora Bosch (Cuba) and Patrick Armand (France).
From 2009 to 2011 Klein participated in five international ballet competitions in Paris, Nimes, Grasse, Biarritz and Toulouse and won seven gold medals. In 2011 he joined the Junior Ballet VM Company and danced in more than 30 performances yearly throughout Europe. Klein has danced many leading roles in full length ballets choreographed by Matthew Madsen, Tom Van Cauwenbergh, Amaury Le Brun and Vinciane Ghyssens.
In 2013 Klein competed at the Youth America Grand Prix and finished in the top five of the final. He has appeared on the television show “France’s Got Talent.”
In December 2013 Klein joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet. His repertoire with the Company includes the Mandarin in Aurora’s Wedding, the Lead Gypsy in Don Quixote, the Chinese Dance and the Recruit in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker, a Fairy Cavalier in Ratmansky’s The Sleeping Beauty, the Neapolitan Dance in Swan Lake, The Boy in Whipped Cream, a leading role in I Feel The Earth Move and a featured role inAfterEffect.
