Johannes Dengler comes from a family of musicians. He studied horn with Josef Crump, Karl Kolbinger and Johannes Ritzkowsky.
Since 1993 he is solo horn player of the Bavarian State Orchestra. He performs an intensive concert activity as a soloist and chamber musician. He is often a guest of other European top orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 1999, he was awarded the Culture Prize of the city of Traunstein, 2004, followed by the appointment as Bayerisches Kammervirtuosen. For his recording of the horn trios of Brahms, Ligeti and Koechlin with the Munich horn trio he received in 2012 the Echo Klassik.
