The stage designer Joanna Piestrzyńska made her diploma in stage and film design at the University for Applied arts in Vienna and graduated with a degree in theatre studies and Polish Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Already during her studies she worked as a freelance stage and costume designer signed numerous installations to Opera houses and theatres (the Old national theatre in Cracow, Julisz Słowacki theatre in Cracow, Łaźnia Nowa theatre, Krakow, Norwid - city theatre Hirschberg, Podlasie Opera and Phil harmony, Opole amphitheatre, theatre Schönbrunn, Vienna, Stadttheater Mödling, TU Open Air stage Vienna) in Austria and in Poland .
Since 2005, Ms. Piestrzyńska has worked as a freelance stage designer mainly in music theatre and speech Theatre. She also works as a film designer and costume designer for various international projects. In addition to her activities at the theatre and in Film, she is also an outfitter in other areas such as Event Stage Design, Interior Design, Museum and exhibition design, advertising and Image campaign. Ms. Piestrzyńska also specialised in 3D design and Virtual Scenography. In her works she deals with space semiotics and spiritual geometry, the meaning of signs and symbols, as well as the collective consciousness of what she can incorporate into her stage designs artistically.
