The Jiangsu Performing Arts Group National Orchestra has a history of more than 60 years. In its long-term artistic practice, the orchestra has given birth to a big group of artistic talents and produced a number of provincial and national-level award-winning works, including Attachment to Suzhou, Melody of Southern Jiangsu, Bamboo Melody, Green Willow, Spring in the Yangtze River Delta, Night Anchorage at Maple Bridge, Beacon Tower, Plum Blossom Melody, Bell and Drum on Qixia, Eight Segments of Scenery and Moonlight over the Spring River. In many years of an artistic career, the orchestra has developed a unique performing style of its own. In recent years, it has released dozens of laser CDs at home and abroad. The CDs, which contain many excellent pieces in the orchestra’s repertoire, have won high praise from the global audience and positive comments from insiders and experts.
The orchestra has cooperated with tens of famous composers, conductors, performers and music groups at home and abroad, and attended many major traditional music activities, including the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Golden Bell Awards series, where it gave opening and closing performances and provided an overall guarantee for competitions, winning high praise from all walks of life. The orchestra has given visiting performances in the USA, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Malta, Japan, Singapore, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Macedonia, North Korea, South Korea, and regions like Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, winning wide acclaim from the audience at home and abroad.
