Born in 1985, Jean-Baptiste Leclère studied percussion with Daniel Sauvage then Michel Gastaud before joining in 2005 the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris in the class of Michel Cerutti, Florent Jodelet and Eric Sammut. After being awarded 2nd solo percussion in 2007, since 2013 he has held the position of 1st solo percussion in the Orchester de l'Opéra National de Paris. His desire to bring together French eclectic personalities of percussion led him to found the Paris Percussion Group. He is also a member of the quartet 2 pianos, 2 Jatekok percussions.
His particular interest in orchestral percussion led him to regularly conduct masterclasses and clinics in France and abroad (United States, Colombia, Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Taiwan). He also participates in numerous solo and chamber music concerts (Percussion and Marimba Festival of Bulgaria, Shanghai Concert Hall, Radio France, Paris Opera, Alexander Paley and Friends, Teatro Major Santo Domingo ...). In particular, he recorded with Klaus Huber's cellist Alexis Descharmes Rauche Pinselspitze II (CD of the Charles Cros Academy).
Jean-Baptiste also teaches at the conservatory of the 13th district of Paris, at the higher pole CESMD Poitou-Charentes and within the Academy Eurocuivres.
