The Bassist Jan Martiník completed his vocal studies with Eliška Pappová at the University of Ostrava. He is a winner of national and international competitions, including the song award winner at "Singer of the World" 2009 in Cardiff. From 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Komische Oper Berlin. Since the 2012/13 season he has been a member of the ensemble of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and sang here, among others. Sarastro, Colline, Eremit ("Der Freischütz"), Father Truelove ("the Rake's Progress") and Brander ("La damnation de Faust"). Guest engagements have taken him to the Vienna Volksoper and at the Theater in Erfurt, Prague, Košice and Ostrava. Jan Martiník works with renowned conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Fabio Luisi and Zubin Mehta. He was a soloist in concerts with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, The Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Dresden. His concert repertoire includes Bach's passions, Mozart and Dvorak requiems, Dvorak's "Te Deum" and Haydn's "The creation". For his Interpretation of the Bass part in Verdi's "Messa da Requiem" under Fabio Luisi, he was acclaimed by critics. He also celebrated international successes with the" biblical songs " of Dvořák, which he recorded in 2017 with the Czech Philharmonic under Jiří Bělohlávek.
