Jamie Peet is a drummer with a feel for contemporary beats and grooves who has been appearing on the BIMHUIS stage increasingly often in recent years.
This year he will perform here twice, as the half of the experimental duo with Niels Broos (June 8) and as part of the Ramón Valle Trio (June 30). Aside from jazz he has played a lot of funk and hip-hop, for example with rapper Pete Philly. ‘Put him behind his drum kit and you will him bubbling with joyful outbursts, strange shifts and lightning speed reactions to what he hears and sees’ (Slagwerkkrant).
