In 2009 Irina Churilova graduated from the Novosibirsk State Glinka Conservatoire (class of Zinaida Didenko). Has taken part in master-classes given by Diane Zola and Montserrat Caballé and trained under Enza Ferrari.

From 2008 to 2018 was a soloist at the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Made her Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2013, appearing as Marguerite in the premiere of a new production of Faust. Since then she has regularly appeared in St Petersburg. Has sung in Mariinsky Theatre premieres of the operas The Queen of Spades (2015), Simon Boccanegra (2016) and I vespri siciliani (2017). For the role of Liza in The Queen of Spades she received a nomination for Russia's Golden Mask theatre prize.

Joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2018.

Irina Churilova has taken part in on-tour performances of the Mariinsky company in Baden-Baden (The Queen of Spades), Tokyo (Don Carlo), Shanghai (The Queen of Spades), Rome and Hamburg (Iolanta), Munich, Berlin, Lucerne (Iolanta), and Pamplona (Mahler’s Symphony No. 2).

As a guest soloist, she has also performed at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. On the invitation of Montserrat Caballé, Churilova took part in her anniversary concert at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in 2012.

In the 2016/2017 season, she made her debut as Norma at the Oper-Graz and as Aida at the opera festival at the Arena di Verona Opera Festival. In the 2017/2018 season, Churilova made her debut at the Savonlinna Opera Festival as Lisa (The Queen of Spades) and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Verdi Gala).
In the 2018/2019 season, she made her debut as Norma at the Municipal Theatre of Santiago in Francesca Zambello’s production and Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) at the Teatro Regio di Parma and Grand Théâtre de Genève.
