Swedish soprano Ida Falk Winland has during the spring of 2015 sung Poppea in Handel’s Agrippina at the Internationale Händel-Festspiele in Göttingen and will this season appear as Ophelia in Thomas' Hamlet.

Ida Falk Winland has appeared in roles like Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Romilda in Serse at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, First Niece in Peter Grimes at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with the Helsinki Festival, Cunégonde in Bernstein’s Candide at Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy and Cecily in Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London and at Opéra National de Lorraine.She made her Glyndebourne Festival debut as the Dew Fairy in Hänsel und Gretel. 

Ida Falk Winland is currently contracted as a soloist at the Göteborg Opera where her roles have included Morgana in Alcina, Cleopatra in Guilio Cesare, Rosina in Il barbiere di Seviglia and, during the 2014/2015 season, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.

Ida Falk Winland has worked with conductors such as Sakari Oramo, Marc Minkowski, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding and Valery Gergiev. A frequent guest at the concert platform she has appeared with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Syphony Orchestra, and the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

On CD Ida Falk Winland can be heard in Bach’s Mass in b minor under the baton of Jonathan Cohen (Hyperion Records), Haydn’s The Creation with Philipp von Steinaecker (Fra Bernardo) and on her first solo CD with songs by Copland, Nystroem and R. Strauss.

Ida Falk Winland studied with Lillian Watson at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School (Royal College of Music), and at the National Opera Studio where she was awarded the Tagore gold medal.
