Created precisely with the aim of offering a new opportunity to investigate the sacred and profane repertoire of the ancien regime, the ensemble pays particular attention to the Tuscan repertoire linked to the Medici dynasty.
The Grand Prince Musicians have been carrying out an intense research and interpretation activity since 2017 of the ancient and baroque repertoire. The ensemble is the first performance of the Alleluia motet by Giacomo Antonio Perti in the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata in Florence after 300 years and the first world recording of the Spiritual Concerts Op. 3 by Alessandro Melani (Brilliant Classics). Samuele Lastrucci, founder and leader of the Florentine ensemble, studied conducting at the Mantua Conservatory and at the Bicocca University of Milan. Since 2015 he is artistic and musical director of the Da Vinci Baroque Festival.
