Horia Andreeescu is a Romanian conductor. Horia Andreescu is the principal conductor of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic.
Between 1974-1987 he was conductor of the Ploiești Philharmonic Orchestra.
He graduated from the Bucharest Conservatory, then attended the Vienna Academy of music under the guidance of Hans Swarowsky and Karl Österreicher, and at Trier and Munich with conductor Sergiu Celibidache.
He was awarded the Critics ' Prize at the 1981 Biennale of Contemporary Music in Berlin. In 1997, the Union of musical critics called him " conductor of the year."
He was awarded the National Order "for Merit" in the rank of high cross (2006). is a laureate of the UNESCO National Committee for Cultural Development Award (2002).
He is the founder and conductor of the Chamber Orchestra "virtuosos" in Bucharest.
He collaborated and conducted with major orchestras in Europe, including the London Symphony Orchestra, The Wiener Symphoniker, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestras, BBC Scottish and many others.
