The Netherlands Accompaniment Orchestra has fully focused on accompanying choirs and soloists. The orchestra, which consists entirely of professional musicians, was founded in the early 1990s and initially only worked in the middle and east of the country. In the meantime, choirs and soloists from all over the country have discovered the Netherlands Accompaniment Orchestra. Craftsmanship and enthusiasm characterize the Dutch Accompaniment Orchestra. Evert Jan Schuur studied the violin at the Brabant Conservatory
Maurits van der Berg. He then studied Baroque Violin with Marie Leonardt at the Rotterdam Conservatory and further for the recording of chamber music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Lucy van Dael. Evert Jan has played a lot abroad with ensembles such as La Chapelle Royale, La Grande Ecurie, Das Neue Orchester and La Stagione Frankfurt. He currently plays with Die Cappella Coloniensis and La Académie Sainte-Cécile.
In addition to being a concertmaster with the Netherlands Accompaniment Orchestra, Evert Jan Schuur plays in the piano trio Camerata 1800 and in Camerata Artemisia.
Method
The Netherlands Accompaniment Orchestra is an orchestra that has deliberately chosen to accompany choirs. For over 20 years, the orchestra has shown that craftsmanship, collegiality and pleasure can go together. With great success, the orchestra provides accompaniment and it is impossible to imagine the Netherlands without chorus. Together with the choir, the NBO forms a team, with one thing at the forefront: presenting an inspiring concert, prepared in harmonious collaboration. An orchestra rehearsal and a general rehearsal are planned for each concert. Including a break, each rehearsal lasts three hours and fifteen minutes. The orchestra rehearsal is led by the choir conductor. In consultation, it can be decided to schedule more rehearsals, extended rehearsals or, for example, a string rehearsal. If artistically justified, it is possible to discuss the orchestra rehearsal.
The orchestra has its own, extensive library, which the choir can use free of charge. The strings for the strings have been served and the musicians are well prepared, so that the rehearsal time can be used optimally. For a change, the orchestra can independently perform one or more instrumental works during the concert. These works are conducted and rehearsed by the conductor within the time of the orchestra rehearsal. There are no additional costs involved.
