About

Hany Abdelzaher was born in Cairo and graduated from the conservatory with Prof. Dr. Sobhi Bider. He graduated from Trinity College London under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hanan El Guindi.

At the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg, he graduated with a master's degree in opera and music theatre with Maestro Gernot Sahler, Prof. Dr. Hermann Keckeis and Prof. Alexander Von Pfeil. Currently, Hany Abdelzaher is studying at Maestro Niels Muss at the music and art private University of the city of Vienna.

From 2007 to 2014, Hany Abdelzaher sang numerous opera roles at the Staatsoper Cairo, where he performed as Nemorino in Donizetti's "L'elisir D'amore", as Tamino in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte", as Duca in Verdi's "Rigoletto", as Alfredo in Verdi's "La Traviata", as Pinkerton in Puccini's "Madama Butterfly", as Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Bohéme", as Don José in Bizet's "Carmen" was on stage.

Ebfalls he had Solennelle also several solo concerts, including Mozart's "Requiem", Handel's "Messiah", "choral fantasy" by Beethoven, Hayden and Schubert's "mass", Rossini's "Stabat Mater", Rossini's "Petite messe", Puccini's "Messa di Gloria", dvořák's "Stabat Mater" and Verdi's "Requiem". In between, he appeared as a member of the American Voices Foundation in 2010, as Tony in Bernstein's "West Side Story" at the Staatsoper Cairo as well as in Alexandria.

At the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he made his debut in 2015 as Nerone in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea", to 2016, as Don José in Bizet's "Carmen", also in 2016 as a narrative in Britten's "The Rape of Lucretia", in 2017, as Rinucciu in Puccini's "Gianni Schichi". In February 2016, he sang with the Salzburg Philharmonic, the role of Radames in Verdi's "Aida".

At a competition in Moscow in October 2016 Hany Abdelzaher was one of the finalists of the Magomaev International Opera competition. In the same year, also in Moscow, he sang a gala concert at the Theater Orfey. During a tour of the Operosa Opera festival in 2017 Hany Abdelzaher occurred in Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, as Vodemon in Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta".

Also in 2017 he reached the final of the International Opera Competition "Opera Pienza" in Toscana.

The year 2018 began for him with the role Idomeneo in "Idomeneo" by Mozart at the theater Akzent in Vienna.
