About

Three years after the release of their last album, Green Day set off the bomb for their 13th studio album of the same name on September 10th with the single "Father Of All ...", which is expected for February 7th, 2020. As a harbinger of this good news, the punk rock legends had announced their world tour.

In their 33-year history, Green Day have sold more than 85 million albums, won 5 Grammys and steadily evolved. In addition to their numerous gold and platinum awards, they brought a rock musical to Broadway, toured the whole world and became one of the greatest rock bands on the planet.

That was not foreseeable when it was founded in 1986. After the first two albums were still more of an insider tip, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool made their international breakthrough in 1994 with “Dookie”. Today's classics “When I Come Around” and “Basket Case” are on the record. Not only did they get Green Day into the top ten of all major album charts and diamond status in the USA, but also fueled the punk revival of the nineties and made the band the role model for the great pop-punk wave at the end of the decade. This was followed by three more albums, "Insomniac" (1995), "Nimrod" (1997) and "Warning" (2000), which did not quite match the success of "Dookie", but manifested the band in the scene.

After a long break, Green Day returned with a big bang in 2004 - the album "American Idiot", a concept album in the form of a punk rock opera, was to become the greatest success of their career. With hits like “American Idiot”, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, the record made it to number one in 19 countries and sold over 16 million copies. Since then, Green Day has been a permanent guest in the charts and has led their success story with the following long players “21st Century Breakdown” (2009), the trilogy “¡Uno !, ¡Dos !, ¡Tré!” (2012) and “Revolution Radio” ( 2016) continues seamlessly.

Now the Californians will deliver us the next masterpiece in early 2020 with their 13th release "Father Of All ...". How much the title will live up to its name and crash on stage will be seen on June 3, 2020 in Berlin's Wuhlheide. Green Day will be accompanied as a special guest by Weezer - the band around the front man and horn-rimmed glasses fanatic Rivers Cuomo.
