The English conductor GRAEME JENKINS was born in London in 1958, studied at the Royal College of Music and at the University of Cambridge and is known for his comprehensive repertoire and his many years of opera experience. 

Between 1994 and 2013 he was musical director of the Dallas Opera and had the same position at the Glyndebourne Touring Opera from 1986 to 1991. From 1997 to 2002 he was permanent guest conductor at the opera in Cologne. During his impressive career he has conducted 116 different works in 189 opera productions at houses such as Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Festival, English National Opera, Scottish Opera and Opera North, Opera dé Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Nederlandse Opera, Royal Danish Opera, Royal Swedish Opera, Australian Opera, Canadian Opera and Glimmerglass Opera. His comprehensive repertoire ranges from early baroque to contemporary pieces. In 2013 he debuted at the Welsh National Opera, in 2014 he received an invitation by the English National Opera. As orchestra conductor he regularly appears on stands of international orchestras. With Billy Budd Graeme Jenkins made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2005 and has since then also conducted Jenufa, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, Der fliegende Holländer, Lohengrin, Fanciulla del West, Peter Grimes, Katja Kabánová, Un ballo in maschera as well as The Tempest here.
