Gilbert den Broeder specialized in coaching and guiding singers and collaborated with singers such as Eva Maria Westbroek, Charlotte Margiono, Detlef Roth, Frank van Aken, Peter Gijsbertsen, Bastiaan Everink, Maarten Koningsberger, Harry Peeters, Regine Créspin, Nelly Miricioiu, Roberta Alexander and Cristina Deutekom.
Gilbert den Broeder studied piano at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. He continued his studies with Irwin Gage, Rudolf Jansen, Craig Rutenberg and Peter Elkus, among others.
Gilbert is solo rehearsal for the vocal productions of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, including those with Elina Garanca, Christianne Stotijn, Miah Persson, Bernarda Fink, Genia Kühmeier, Thomas Quasthoff, Klaus Florian Vogt and Gerald Finley with conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Colin Davis, Philippe Herreweghe, Iván Fischer and Bernhard Haitink.
In addition, he cooperated as a coach / rehearsal director for productions of The Netherlands Opera, the Residentie Orchestra, the Juilliard School of Music in New York, The National Travel Opera, Opera Studio Netherlands, the Dutch National Opera Academy and The Grachtenfestival Amsterdam. He also regularly works as a pianist on radio and television programs for various broadcasters. Gilbert works as a guest teacher for the Vocal Department and the Lied Class for the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, where he coaches singers and pianists.
