Born in Sesto San Giovanni (MI) in 1953, he graduated with honors in Performing Arts from the University of Bologna.
His activity began in 1980. He collaborated with the major Italian theater directors such as: Daniele Abbado, Pietro Carrigio, Massimo Castri, Nanni Garella, Cesare Lievi, Giorgio Marini, Pierluigi Pizzi, Luca Ronconi, Sandro Sequi, Federico Tiezzi and others in the most important Italian and European theaters including: Teatro alla Scala, Zurich Opera, ROF of Pesaro, Metropolitan NY , San Carlo Napoli, Salzburg Festival, Burghtheater and Vienna State Opera and many others. He held courses in lighting at the State University of Milan and the Academy of Brera. He received the prize of the National Theater Critics Association in 2006 and the UBU award in 2008. In his career, both in lyric and prose, he has signed the lights of over 150 shows.
