Was born in Parma and studied there at the “A. Boito” conservatory. After winning several competitions as a soloist and chamber player he worked as 2nd. trumpet in the “Orchestra Nazionale della Rai” (Italian Radio Symphony) until 1999 when he moved to La Scala.
