Gianluca Breda, after graduating in cello in 1992, undertook the study of singing, graduating in 1997 at the Conservatory of Parma, then perfecting himself in France with prof. Françoise Garner.
After the debut that took place in Parma in Britten's The Little Sweep and after an intense concert activity, he embarked on a career that in a short time saw him attend, still very young, cartel roles up to face the roles of the great repertoire such as Ramfis , Zaccaria, Don Basilio, Sparafucile, to name a few, as a regular guest of the Dijon Theater.
He participated in the summer season of the Macerata Opera Festival in the role of the King in Aida, which he resumed in Rovigo and Pavia, and in the 2002 season he again took part in the Macerata season in the roles of Zuniga (Carmen) and Monterone (Rigoletto); he returned to Macerata in the 2003 season for the production of La Traviata (Dr. Grenvil).
He participated in the Ponchielli Theater season of Cremona in Un Ballo in Maschera (in the role of Samuel).
Recently he played the role of Zaccaria in Nabucco at the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo, Don Basilio in Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia in a tour of the Teatro Verdi of Salerno in Bombay and New Delhi and Angelotti in Puccini's Tosca at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona and later at the Verona Philharmonic Theater.
He speaks fluent French.
