Born in Albi, a flutist and cellist by training, Gabrielle Philiponet joined the Conservatoire de Valenciennes in 2003 in the singing class of Daniel Ottevaere. She won two years later her gold medal unanimously.
At the same time, she works with Janine Reiss and David Miller. In 2005, she joined the Opera Studio of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the direction of José Van Dam. She distinguished herself during various singing competitions and received the first prize at the Beziers Singing Competition in 2006.
She performs in such roles as Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Oscar (A Masked Ball), Parasha (Mavra), Musetta (La Boheme), Despina (Così fan tutte), Gabrielle (Parisian Life), Corinna ( The Journey to Reims), Eurydice (Orpheus to Hell), Mary (The Musketeers to the Convent), Mi (The Land of Smiles), Fire, Princess and Nightingale (The Child and Spells), The Fairy (Cinderella Massenet), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi).
More recently, she has been working on the operatic soprano repertoire: Madga (La Rondine) at the Opéra national de Lorraine, Violetta (La Traviata) at the Opéra de Massy, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Mimi (La Bohème) in tour in Spain, Antonia (The Tales of Hoffmann) at the Opera of Toulon, Portia (The Merchant of Venice) at the Opera of Saint-Etienne, Rosalinde (The Bat) at the Opera of Avignon, Desdemona (Otello) with the Györ Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by José Cura, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at the Opéra de Rouen, Lisa (The Land of Smiles) at the Opera de Tours, Plautine (The Temple of Glory of Rameau) to San Francisco. She plays the role of Frasquita at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in the staging of Dmitri Tcherniakov. Last season, she tackled the roles of Marguerite (Faust) in Saint-Etienne and Adina (The Elixir of Love) in Nice and made her debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Frasquita. This season, she sang Leila (The Pearl Fishers) at the Nice Opera. Gabrielle Philiponet also performs in concert (Haydn's Creation, Dvořák's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Small Mass, Catel's Semiramis, Adrien de Mehul, The Last Day of Pompeii de Joncières, David's Herculaneum).
