Franz Draxinger, born in Waldkirchen, started playing horns at the age of 13.
He studied at the Munich Musikhochschule and received chamber music and piano lessons at the same time. In 1987 he was engaged in the Munich Radio Orchestra, where he was deputy solo horn from 1994. In 2005 he joined the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Since 2007 he is deputy solo horn in the Bavarian State Orchestra. He devoted himself intensively to chamber music and won several awards with the Arcis Quintet.
