About
Franck II Louise (also typographed Frank2Louise, Franck2Louise, Franck 2 Louise), born Franck Begue in Saint-Denis in France in 1966, is a Franco-Spanish self-taught choreographer and composer.
Originally a dancer and DJ, then choreographer and composer, Frank2Louise focuses his work and research on the "musicality of the movement". He made his first choreographies in 1983 under the pseudonym Frank "the crazy breaker". It is one of the first French break dance bands called Paris City Breakers. He was one of the first dancers in the world of Hip-Hop to collaborate with that of contemporary dance since 1993. From his shows, parades and various street art events, he managed to give performances on institutional scenes from that time. He creates his first real structured show for the stage in 1998 with Instinct Paradise; will follow Drop It in 2000, First Konnexion in 2004, and Konnecting Souls in 2006 at La Villette.
His choreographic worlds are steeped in the science fiction that has bathed his childhood (including the works of Isaac Asimov, Philippe Druillet, Hans Ruedi Giger, Enki Bilal) with in particular the meeting in his work of "the man and machine ". The techniques of hip-hop dance make it possible to produce a gesture based on visual effects and thus to transpose its work on the human-machine relationship. At first, associated with the sound impulses of his musical composition, the dance is under control, then it puts in opposition the will to free oneself in search of spontaneity. Subsequently, he will develop for several years, using new technologies, a way to write dance and music at the same time. Sensors (motion capture) placed on segments of the body trigger musical notes or rhythms completely controlled by the dancer.
In parallel, Frank2Louise composes from 1995 music shows, his own but also those of many formations including the companies Aktuel Force, Käfig, Traffic Style, Revolution, Thony Maskot, Kadia Faraux, or Anthony Egea. His musical creations (computer-aided music) feed on all subjects - dance, music, images - and use all the new technologies to transform the body into an instrument and invent a new body music. In the 2000s, his music brought him to meet film directors to compose the soundtracks.
