About
Violinist supersolist of the Paris Opera, Frédéric Laroque is presented as a refined soloist, a great elegance.
Born into a family of musicians, Frédéric Laroque is initiated early on the violin by his mother. A pupil of Gérard Jarry at the CNSM in Paris, he follows the teaching of the great Arthur Grumiaux in Namur. He moved to the United States at Bloomington University to study violin with Henryck Kowalski, and chamber music with Menahem Pressler and Janos Starker.
Back in France, he joined the Orchester de l'Opéra National de Paris, where he became a supersole violin a few years later.
He plays soloist with the Camerata of St Petersburg, the National Orchestra of China, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Paris Opera, with whom he notably performs the concertos of Beethoven and Prokofiev ... and gives also concerts in South America and Japan. He participates in several discs for EMI Classics (with Myung-Whun Chung, Marcus Klinko, or Mikhail Rudy).
With a keen interest in chamber music, Frédéric also performs with the Joachim Trio (which he founded with Pierre Lenert and Cyrille Lacrouts), and since 2004 with the Gaudi Quartet. He now teaches at the CNSM in Paris.
