Sound of Vienna, the 2027 New Year Concert, brings the Vienna Royal Orchestra to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Zhongshan Park, just west of Tiananmen Square, on 10 January 2027 at 19:30.
The concert is conducted by Artem Konstantinov, a cellist, conductor and composer. The programme follows the Viennese New Year tradition: Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus Overture, Annen Polka, Voices of Spring, Emperor Waltz, Thunder and Lightning Polka and The Blue Danube, the Radetzky March by Johann Strauss I, together with a Swan Lake suite (Tchaikovsky), the overtures to The Barber of Seville (Rossini) and Carmen (Bizet), Offenbach's Can-Can and favourite Chinese pieces such as Jasmine Flower, The Butterfly Lovers and Spring Festival Overture. The final programme may change on the day.
Duration: about 90 minutes. Children under 1.2 m are admitted with a ticket.
