Overview

Entry with a paper ticket only.

Vienna Royal Symphony Orchestra presents its 2027 New Year Symphony Concert in the spirit of the Vienna New Year’s Concert – Strauss waltzes and polkas, favourite overtures and Chinese classics, with the Radetzky March to finish.

The tour’s conductors are music director Sergei Polianichko, founder of the Horn Orchestra of Russia, who has conducted the Russian National Orchestra and the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra, and guest conductors Daniel Gil, artistic director of the Caracas Municipal Symphony Orchestra, and Chilean-born David Navarro-Turres.

The heart of the programme is the Strauss family’s best-loved music – Voices of Spring, the Emperor Waltz, The Blue Danube and Tales from the Vienna Woods, the Annen, Tritsch-Tratsch and Thunder and Lightning polkas – alongside Rossini, Offenbach’s Can-Can, Shostakovich and Brahms, and orchestral versions of Chinese classics.
