"An imaginative Soprano committed to the enchanting highs" — La Libre Belgique, Florie Valiquette is a young Canadian lyric artist on the rise.

For the 2017-2018 season, Florie returns to the Zurich Opera as a member of the troupe, where she sings in 4 productions; Papagena in die Zauberflöte under the direction of Karina Canellakis; Birk in a new production of Ronja die Räubertochter under the baton of Carrie-Ann Matheson and the direction of Marie-Eve Signeyrole; a Blumenmädchen in Parsifal under the direction of Simone Young and Fortuna & Damigella in a new production of the Opera.Incoronazione di Poppea directed by Ottavio Dantone and directed by Calixto Bieito. She began the season at the Ljubljana Opera, performing Milica in the Svadba cover with the Aix-en-Provence Festival. In addition, she is invited to Montreal to sing Mozart's Mass in C Minor with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, and for a recording of Ana Sokolovic's Tanzer lieder with the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal to be released on the Atma classique label in the fall of 2019. She ended the season by making her debut as Sophie in a concert version of Werther at the Vichy Opera Summer Festival under the direction of chef Pierre Dumoussaud and with singers Karine Deshayes and Jean-François Borras, among others.

Artist-in-residence at the International Opera Studio of the Opernhaus Zürich for the season 2016-2017, she performed Barbarina in The marriage of Figaro, under the direction of Maestro Giovanni Antonini and directed by Sven Eric Bechtolf. Also, it plays Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor conducted by Maestro Thomas Barthel and directed by Ruediger Burbach. To begin the year 2017, he is given love and the first Ghost in the new production of Médée De Charpentier, directed by Maestro William Christie in a production directed by Intendant Andreas Homoki.

Before making his debut with Maestro Charles Dutoit in Frasquita (Carmen) in a concert broadcast by Medici.tv at the Festival of Verbier, Florie Valiquette was seen as Elisetta in Il Matrimonio Segreto at the National Opera under the direction of Maestro Benjamin Bayl and staged by Monique Wagemakers, before resuming the role of Milica in Svadba-Wedding by Ana Sokolovic at the Opera of Angers-Nantes. In addition, she was also one of Manon's Fin de série Danse creations at the FTA-Festival TransAmériques.

In 2015, Florie made her debut with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra as Frasquita (Carmen) under the direction of Maestro Kent Nagano. Featuring Michèle Losier (Carmen) and Joseph Kaiser (Don José), the work was presented at the Olympic Park in front of more than 45,000 spectators. Florie has also held the role of Yniold (Pelléas and Mélisande), with Hélène Guilmette, Bernard Richter, Philip Sly and Marie-Nicole Lemieux at the opening concert of the 10th season of Maestro Nagano as music director of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.

In July 2015, Florie returned to the Festival of Aix-en-Provence in the lead role of Milica for the new production of the Opera Svadba-marriage of Ana Sokolović, after a notable time in Bahrain in the roles of the Princess and the bat (the child and the spells). Acclaimed by the press, the Opera Svadba was broadcast by Arte Concert in the summer of 2015.

Earlier in 2015, you could hear the Quebec symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Steven Fox in the Harmonie Messe Haydn, and with les Violons du Roy under the direction of Mathieu Lussier in the title role of Zémire and Azor, directed by filmmaker oscar-winning Denys Arcand.

Florie made her debut at the Opéra de Montréal in 2013 as Javotte (Manon) and Miss Ellen (Lakmé), in addition to being the understudy of Nanetta (Falstaff) in 2014. Previously, she played Teutile (Motezuma), Arsena (Der Zigeunerbaron) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni).

Artist-in-residence at the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal from 2012 to 2015, she has held the roles of the sandman and the Fairy Dew (Hansel und Gretel), Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), and Galatea (Acis & Galatea).

"As comfortable in opera as in baroque opera, including the recital and the oratorio" (Opera Canada), Florie excelled in a wide variety of repertoires.

In baroque music, Florie was invited as soloist by Les Violons du Roy, The Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, the ensemble Caprice, Montréal Baroque and the Festival international de musique baroque De Lamèque.

In contemporary music, in addition to the Opera Svadba-Mariage, composer Denis Gougeon recommends her to sing her play voice-Venus (Six solar themes) with pianist Louise‑Andrée Baril in a tribute concert by the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec on Espace Musique, the musical radio of the Société Radio-Canada.

In 2010, Florie made a notable musical debut as Maria Von Trapp (the melody of happiness) in a production of Juste pour Rire directed by Denise Filiatrault. Critically acclaimed, the production was presented to more than 100,000 spectators in Montréal and received a nomination in the performance of the Year category at the ADISQ Gala in 2011.

At the circus, Florie has worked many times with Cirque Éloize for corporate events, as well as with the national circus School during the production of Hansel und Gretel, the 30th anniversary of the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal.

In chamber music, Florie has been performing since 2009 with pianist Martin Dubé, with whom she has given recitals in Canada, Belgium and the United States. She also performed at the Festival d'orford and the Festival de Lachine with pianist Olivier Godin, and with pianist Ilmo Ranta, in Helsinki, in a recital broadcast on Finnish national television Yle Klassinen. It also collaborates with the renowned quintet Pentahedron.

Florie is supported by the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation for young Canadian opera singers and has stood out in several competitions including the Queen Sonja International 2015, the Mirjam Helin international 2014, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra competition 2014, the Canada Music Competition International springboard and the Prix d'europe. In may 2015, the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal, he received the Award of excellence Mario Létourneau at the end of his residence.

She holds a master's degree in classical vocal performance from the Université de Montréal and continues her vocal training with Marlena Malas in New York. She is represented by Intermezzo Management in Paris.
