The mountains take center stage in one of the most charming music festivals of Trentino. International musicians and artists will perform in the outdoors, near huts, refuges, forts and beautiful locations which can be reached on foot along well-marked paths, with shows starting at dawn and ending late at night. The love for music and for the mountains, for art and nature, all in one festival! A series of important events with famous Italian and international artists will follow.

Sounds of the Dolomites is the main event of the year with the participation of world classical music stars.

Even in the world's best concert halls and opera houses, the listening conditions can vary greatly, and some seats are better than others. Sometimes nearby seats have very different viewing and listening conditions.

It's the journey that makes your holiday unique, not just the destination. And what makes I Suoni delle Dolomiti (Sounds of the Dolomites) so special is the sense of wonder that comes when natural surroundings are filled with music, all barriers fall away and real emotions come to the fore. Leaving everything behind and immersing yourself in the beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the first joyful step in a truly unique experience. A breath of fresh air for body and soul, immersing yourself in the colours, scents and sounds that form the perfect setting for a high-altitude concert. A magic spell that’s cast again and again with each new edition. The 27 edition in 2022 of the Sounds of the Dolomites wasd took place from August 22th to September 23th.

The festival included 16 music events with concerts of any kind, from jazz to classic, from world music to singer-writer songs, having as background the wonderful natural landscapes of Trentino’s mountains.

Most concerts tooke place in the afternoon, close to the Alpine huts where the participants could admire breath-taking views and taste typical dishes.

The 2022's Festival also included one concert at sunrise, offering people the experience of listening live music after reaching the summit when it is still dark.

All the locations are reachable through well-signed paths or in the company of the Alpine guides of Trentino, that may also telling visitors the history and the tales of the territory. All paths are accessible both for children and disabled people. For the athletic ones, there are also itineraries that require more effort.

The event offered also some trekking days along the paths Dolomites in the company of Alpine guides and musicians sharing this original experience rich of thrill between music and nature.

About the Sounds of the Dolomites

Every summer in Trentino, music and nature come together on the natural stage of the Dolomites. Join the musicians and climb the paths to the alpine meadows, clearings, hollows and peaks. Up there, where music intertwines with the landscape, plays with the echoes, and flies away on the flurries of the wind.

The region’s stunning landscapes form the perfect natural backdrop for each live performance as grand pianos are played in open meadows and full steel drum bands perform at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. Trentino mountain guides also lead concert-goers on scenic routes passing through forests, mountain pathways and rural pastures to reach their event.

The region of Trentino in northern Italy runs from the northern shore of Lake Garda to the Dolomites mountains, where visitors can travel from the Mediterranean to the alpine in less than an hour. Its vast natural landscape is complete with nature parks, lakes, waterfalls and canyons, an adventure playground for those who enjoy nature and the outdoors. The Dolomites are located in the northern Italian Alps and feature some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world. The range features 18 peaks which rise to above 3,000 metres and cover an area of 141,903 hectares and this year marks ten years since the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
