About the Diaghilev Festival
The International Diaghilev Festival has as its goal the maintenance and development of the traditions of the outstanding impresario and propagandist of Russian culture Sergey Pavlovich Diaghilev.
It is far from accidental that it was the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after them. P.I. Tchaikovsky initiated the first Diaghilev festival in Russia.
Perm is the city in which Sergei Diaghilev spent his childhood, in which there is the world's only house-museum of the legendary impresario. The building of the Perm Opera House was built thanks to the significant financial support of the Diaghilevs.
A distinctive feature of the Perm festival is not only the venue, but also its multi-genre nature.
