Esthel Durand began her singing studies at the CNR Rouen then joined the Boulogne-Billancourt, winning the prize with congratulations from the jury in 1997. She follows the master classes of Udo Reinemann (Lied), Guillemette Laurens (Baroque) and Teresa Zylis Gara (opera).
She works on technique, teaching and opera repertoire with Heidi Raymond in Geneva. Winner of the "Golden Voices", Esthel Durand also won the first prizes of UFAM competitions, Leopold Bellan, French Scene, European Music Competition in Picardy. She has performed in France and Europe in Pierne's Children in Bethlehem, Rossini's Little Mass, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Haendel's Semele and Julius Caesar, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Poulenc's Carmelite Dialogues ( the second prioress), Don Giovanni (Elvira), The Bat (Rosalinde), Noah's Ark of Britten (Noah), The Damoiselle elected Debussy (title-role).
She performs at the festival "October in Normandy" (Delage and Stravinsky) and with the quartet Prima vista (Mahler and Shostakovich). Regular guest of the Festival "Pierres Lyriques" (The Parisian Life, Orpheus in the Underworld), she frequently performs in recital (Lieder by Wagner, Malher, Schumann ...).
From 2000, she regularly collaborates with the Chorus of the Opéra national de Paris, which she became a member in 2001. Since then, she sings all the great opera repertoire under the direction of prestigious conductors such as James Conlon, Armin Jordan , Seiji Ozawa, etc. In parallel, she is passionate about teaching singing and performs this activity at the C.N.R. Boulogne Billancourt.
