Eriko Tsuchihashi began studying violin at the age of 4, developing his studies with Stanley Bedner in the Manhattan School of Music in New York, with Sally O'Reilly in Minneapolis and Graz, Austria, with Yair Kless, at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts. She then returned to the United States, where she was able to meet Franco Gulli and Miriam Fried, with whom Eriko Tsuchihashi obtained the Master Degree in 2004, at Indiana University.
As a soloist, Eriko Tsuchihashi received important awards in numerous international competitions: in 1997 she won first prize in the ASTA (American String Teachers Association) Minnesota Competition; in 1998 won the first prize in the Young Artist Audìtion of Minneapolis, the second prize in the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Competition, in addition to being awarded in the YPSCA (Young People's Symphony Concert Audition) Competition; in 1999 won first prize in the Chautauqua Concerto Competition, the second prize in the Schubert Club Competition and was awarded by Dresdner Bank; in 2002 won second prize in the ASTA Competition. She is also the winner of the third prize in the 2004 Michelangelo Abbado International Competition. Eriko Tsuchihashi has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Sinfonia and the MSFO Orchestra (in the Chautauqua Institute of Music), in the United States, the Chikashi Chamber Ensemble in Japan, the Milan Symphony Orchestra and recently the Orchestra of the Academy of Works, with which she performed Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, at the Sala Verdi in Milan. Her performances were broadcast by radio from Minnesota Public Radio and RAI Radio 3, and on television from RAI UNO, RAI TRE, SKY Classica and CNN. After moving to Italy in 2004, Eriko continues to perform in chamber ensembles; with her quartet she has repeatedly played for His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, in the presence of the Minister of Culture and the highest institutional authorities. Since January 2010, Eriko Tsuchihashi plays as concertino of the first violins with the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra. Eriko Tsuchihashi plays on a violin Andrea Guarneri of 1660.
