Lyric soprano, she graduated in singing at the “G. Verdi ”of Milan. The study of singing was accompanied by that of the oboe and the piano. Winner of the "Mattia Battistini" competition with which she then debuted in the role of Aida, Emilia Bertoncello was engaged in numerous recitals in Italian cities and musical evenings organized by the "Amici della Lirica". She sang in the following operas at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan: Oberon, Rondine (G. Gavazzeni), Don Pasquale (R. Muti), Ratto dal Serraglio (W. Sawallisch) and Lohengrin (D. Gatti). Emilia Bertoncello has collaborated as a soloist with the La Scala Philharmonic Choir in a concert at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in a tour in Barcelona. In the 2000-2001 season she always collaborated with the Teatro alla Scala in the production I Dialoghi delle Carmelitane and in the opening concert of the Verdiano year. Productions both directed by Riccardo Muti. In 2002 she started a collaboration with the "Arturo Toscanini" Foundation in the production of Rigoletto by G. Verdi directed by Vittorio Sgarbi, a production represented at the Busseto Festival, Vigoleno, and in the cities of Siena and Catanzaro. In 2004 still engaged in the production of The Dialogues of the Carmelites at the Teatro alla Scala and in Trovatore in the role of Leonora in the cities of Novara, Alessandria and Asti under the direction of Marcello Rota, receiving unanimous approval from the public and critics. Emilia Bertoncello performed concerts in Rome and Naples, collaborating with the Band of the State Police. She made for the Perosian Festival the recordings of the orators The massacre of the innocents and The Resurrection of Christ; In Patris Memoriam and In Diebus Tribulationis under the direction of Arturo Sacchetti (ed. Bongiovanni). Currently she has held the role of Dama in Macbeth under the direction of V. Gergiev at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where she works permanently as a choir artist. Actively engaged in the lyric / sacred repertoire and in recital with orchestra and piano.
