Emanuele Pedrani double bass player, pianist and composer is a versatile artist.
His musical activity is also accompanied by those related to the figurative arts (painting, photography, video) often related to his musical-compositional-improvisational expression.
An effective member of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and of the homonymous Philharmonic as a double bass player, he previously worked in orchestras such as those of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Born in 1969, he graduated as a 20-year-old in double bass with the highest marks under the guidance of Ezio Pederzani, attending piano and composition courses at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan. . He won twice the "National Competition for string instruments Città di Genova" and in duo with pianist Lucio Bonardi performs chamber music winning several awards including "National Competition City of Meda". Performs concerts for solo double bass with various orchestras, including the Orchestra of the Angelicum in Milan. In 1998 he was among the semifinalists of the "Geneva International Double Bass Competition".
In his expressive journey Emanuele Pedrani also favors his natural musical inclination towards a piano activity based on improvisation. He made his debut in 1999 with a public success and a happy television response on Rai 3 on the occasion of the Festival of Teatri d 'Europa, promoted by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, with improvisations on music by Fiorenzo Carpi dedicated to cinema and theater. Since then he has undertaken a constant concert commitment, which led him to perform as a solo pianist and / or with established musicians, at numerous musical institutions such as: (Società Umanitaria, Palazzina Liberty, Teatro Studio), Padua (Sala dei Giganti), Strasbourg , New York (Carnegie Hall), as well as in several television and radio broadcasts. (Rai 3 and Radio 3).
His musical creativity embraces the composition both for solo piano, (whose passages are often performed by himself in his concerts), and for chamber ensembles, bringing him to collaborate with artists such as Enrico Dindo, Fabrizio Meloni, Mario Marzi. Together with violinist Andrea Pecolo founded the Open Space duo with which he recorded the Cd Pensieri which collects his compositions; the clarinetist Fabrizio Meloni and the pianist Philip Moll, with the Soloists of the Scala and the Soloists of the Berliner Philharmoniker, have recorded his Lullaby.
In 2011 Emanuele Pedrani exhibited his pictorial works in various sites, including the Auditorium Città di Albino, where he concurrently performed a piano-solo concert with feedback from journalistic criticism, where over to have been performed musics of his composition for solo piano a video-presentation was made entirely by himself conceived with attached live performance of his pieces inherent to the exhibition path entitled "Suspended walls".
