About
Emanuele Cordaro was born in Catania in 1987 and perfected himself in singing with internationally renowned teachers such as Mariella Devia, Marcello Giordani, Marcello Lippi, Bonaldo Giaiotti. He has participated in various international competitions, obtaining important prizes and awards, including: Operalia 2017 held in Astana (finalist); the International Opera Competition "Marcello Giordani" (winner of the role of Pistola in Falstaff, debut in the role at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano).
He made his debut in 2011 playing Masetto in Don Giovanni, which was staged at the Teatro Italia in Rome. He then began performing in the most important Italian theaters. Among the past commitments we find: Giovanna d’arco (Talbot) at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca; La Forza del destino (Marquis of Calatrava) at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa; Rigoletto (Sparafucile) at the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari, at the Aurora Theater in Gozo and with Opera Zuid; The Marriage of Figaro (Bartolo) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; La Bohème (Hills) in Genoa and with Opera Zuid on tour in Holland; Il Trovatore (Ferrando) in Gozo (Malta) and in the Lirico of Cagliari; Anna Bolena (Lord Rochefort) at the Teatro Bellini in Catania; Don Giovanni (Masetto) at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno; Falstaff (Pistola) in Cagliari; The Marriage of Figaro at the Rome Opera; Tosca to Sanxay; A masked ball for the opening of the season at the Regio di Parma; and Verdi's Requiem at the Loyola University Museum of Art in Chicago and in the Milan Cathedral.
More recently he has performed: Manon Lescaut (Geronte) in Catania; Madama Butterfly (Uncle Bonzo) in Lecce; La Traviata and Tosca in Tokyo with the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. He was also Jorg in Verdi's Stiffelio at the Farnese Theater in Parma in Graham Vick's new and acclaimed production as part of the 2017 Verdi Festival; Melcthal in the Guillaume Tell in Palermo; Tom in Un ballo in maschera in Nancy and Le nozze di Figaro and Thamos by Mozart in Palermo. He has just been engaged in the World Premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino's new opera. I see you, I hear you, I get lost at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, a work that will soon be staged at the Berlin Staatsoper.
Other future projects include: Manon Lescaut and Idomeneo alla Scala of Milan; Alzira by Verdi in Bilbao; Don Giovanni at the Rome Opera House; Macbeth in Cagliari; Nabucco in Amsterdam.
