About

Elisabeth Jahrmann, the soubrette out of conviction lives in Vienna and is bursting with zest for life. This manifests itself in an irrepressible urge to play, paired with expressive singing.

The lively Linz native is proud of her Styrian and Burgenland roots. A gentle breeze of the Eastern dialect and the Upper Austrian lightness give the genuine Linz mixed product charm and warmth.

The coloratura soprano also likes to show a big voice in parts of the more serious subject, e.g. as Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.

Elisabeth Jahrmann completed her studies with distinction at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and studied classical operetta with Wolfgang Dosch at the Conservatory Vienna Private University.

She has already been seen in many different roles, both in opera and operetta, etc. a. as Papagena / Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte / Mozart), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel / Humperdinck), Despina (Così fan tutte / Mozart), Pepi (Wiener Blut / Strauss), Stasi (Die Csárdásfürstin / Kálmán), Nelly (Der Obersteiger / Zeller), Miss Mabel Gibson (Die Zirkusprinzessin / Kálmán) at the Coburg Summer Operetta, as Franzi (Wiener Blut / Strauss), and many more.

Elisabeth Jahrmann also has many concerts at home and abroad.
As a vocal soloist she went on an Eastern Europe and Baltic tour with the Strauss Festival Orchestra under the direction of Peter Guth. She could be heard at concerts with an ensemble of Vienna Philharmonic at the Little Salzburg Festival at Golling Castle.
In autumn 2018 she celebrated great success with the Vienna Operetta Ensemble and for New Year 2019 with the Wiener Strauss Symphony Orchestra in Germany on multi-day concert tours.

As a representative of the Wiener Lied, Elisabeth Jahrmann draws attention to herself with her special comedic talent.
