Elenora Maria Yin Lian Hu (Delft, March 8, 1995) is a young Dutch soprano. Whilst completing her bachelor’s studies English Language and Culture at Leiden University, Elenora began her training as a professional vocalist. As of 2016, she is attending HKU Utrecht Conservatory studying under soprano Dobrinka Yankova, in addition to being mentored by world renowned opera-singer Nelly Miricioiu.
In the summer of 2018 Elenora made her opera debut as Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, conducted by Maestro Leonardo Catalanotto.
Partially due to her previous studies, Elenora has a great love for art, culture and history in general. Through combining her musicality with a passion for literature, linguistics and philosophy, Elenora tries to find her own artistic identity within a centuries-old tradition. As an artist and singer, she has been praised for her natural sound, musical sensitivity, and remarkable vocal control.
In June 2018, Elenora won the Miluska Duffkova Scholarship Competition. The scholarship, worth 2000 euros, was granted to Elenora to assist her studies outside the Netherlands. Recently, she received the Public’s Choice Award at the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours, and the Special Prize of the Royal Virginia Zeani Competition in Rumania.
