Born in Bologna in 1976, Elena Faccani graduated in violin from the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan and in viola from Piacenza at the "Giuseppe Nicolini" Conservatory. She attended master classes and masterclasses with Corrado Romano, Miriam Fried, Giuliano Carmignola and Franco Gulli. In 1997 Elena Faccani performed Beethoven's Concerto for violin and orchestra with the "G. Cantelli ”in the Sala Verdi in Milan and in the same year she won the second prize at the Violinistic Review of Vittorio Veneto. In 1998 Elena Faccani was awarded a three-year scholarship by De Sono, thanks to which she attended the Academy of Musical Specialization "Lorenzo Perosi" in Biella under the guidance of Francesco Manara and Ana Chumachenko, graduating with honors and special mention.
She was the first violinist of the Orchestra Accademia of the Filarmonica della Scala. In 2001 Elena Faccani won the competition organized by the Teatro alla Scala and chaired by Riccardo Muti, becoming a permanent member of the Orchestra in the ranks of the first violins. As a solo viola she recently performed Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany. Elena Faccani was awarded the "Barbirolli" prize (for the competitor with the best sound) at the ninth edition of the International Competition for viola "Lionel Tertis" (Great Britain).
