Eddy van Damme, born in 1968 in Amsterdam, already received accordion lessons from his grandfather at the age of eight. He continued his studies with Willem Valenkamp. In 1993 he graduated from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.
Eddy started his musical career at a young age. Together with his brother, drummer André van Damme, he accompanied their parents, among others, the magic duo Loucardi. At the age of 16, Eddy played with the legendary accordionist Johnny Meijer in a program by Stad Radio Amsterdam.
A year later, Eddy was asked as an accordionist in the orchestra of Nederlands Volkstoneel (formerly Nooy’s Volkstheater), the start of his professional career.
Eddy also developed as a pianist, keyboard player, orchestra leader, musical leader and arranger and as such has been involved in many theater productions for almost 30 years. Eddy is a much sought after accompanist of various well-known artists and regularly contributes to studio productions, CD recordings and performances for television.
Eddy van Damme is also producer of various own music theater programs, including La Donna Mobile, "Sing Along for Seniors", "The Singing Captain" and "Quasi Opera".
