Domingo Patricio is a Spanish flutist whose main artistic work has stood out in flamenco and jazz.
He began his musical training at the age of eleven at the Conservatory of the Liceo de Barcelona, studying solfeo and flute.1 He debuted as a soloist of classical music in 1982 performing Ill Cardellino de Vivaldi, together with the Chamber Orchestra of the Liceo de Barcelona. His interests soon turned to flamenco and jazz, collaborating with artists and groups such as Jaleo, Juan Manuel Cañizares, Enrique Morente, Sara Baras, Paco de Lucía, Pepe de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, Mark Ledford, etc. 2
Artistic collaborations
He is part of Sara Baras' group as an interpreter and collaborating in the musical composition of the Sueños shows. With Enrique Morente, Domingo participates in the live shows of Misa Flamenca and Omega. Together with guitarist Diego Cortés, he was part of the Jaleo fusion group. With guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares he participates in the albums Nights of Imam and Moon as a flutist and in Punto de Encuentro as a flutist and arranger, performing with him in live shows. He is also the flutist of the current formation (2009) of Paco de Lucía.
